Layla Peterson

Layla Peterson is a multidisciplinary dance artist based in Madison, Wisconsin. Originally from Portage, Michigan, she holds a BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University and has over a decade of experience in teaching, performing, and choreographing throughout the Midwest.


Layla’s training spans hip hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet, modern, and tap. She has worked under renowned artists including Suave (Hip Hop ConnXion), Annie Franklin, Joshua Manculich, Monique Haley, and Christian Denice, and has performed works by Aszure Barton, Rennie Harris, and Michael Bennett. Her performance credits include appearances at Gibney (NYC), RAD Fest, ACDA, and Western Dance Project.


Deeply passionate about arts education and community engagement, Layla has also contributed to curriculum development and arts programming in Chicago’s Noble Network of Charter Schools. She continues to create and share dance as a powerful tool for connection, expression, and impact.
